MLB Note - Houston Astros Rasmus, Colby
OF Colby Rasmus signed a one-year, $8 million contract with the
Astros on Jan. 20. Rasmus could fill the void in center field left
after the Astros traded Dexter Fowler, who started in center last
season, to the Cubs a day earlier. Other possibilities for Houston's
center field spot include George Springer and Jake Marisnick, so
Rasmus also might see action at the outfield corners.
Rasmus, 28, batted .225/.287/.448 with 18 home runs and 40 RBIs last
season for the Blue Jays. He started 80 games in center and also has
played right and left during his major league career.
