							James R. “Jim” Brown, 79, of Mount Pulaski, passed 
							away at his home at 4:58 a.m. on Saturday, January 
							17, 2015.
 Jim was born on October 31, 1935 in Mount Pulaski, 
							son of Samuel Leonard and Verna Anderson Brown. He 
							was united in marriage to Mary Hahn in September of 
							1957. She survives him in Mount Pulaski. Their union 
							produced three children: Mark (Gail) Brown of 
							Kalamazoo, MI, Jill (Mike) Saulsberry of Woodbridge, 
							CT, and Ann (Wayne) Cowan of Lexington, KY; five 
							grandchildren: Jeff and Carolyn Brown, Drew and Alex 
							Cowan, and Leah Saulsberry. He was preceded in death 
							by his parents, one sister and one brother.
 
							Jim graduated from Millikin University in 1957 with 
							a Bachelor’s degree in Business and Industry. His 
							employment included real estate broker, time keeping 
							department of Clinton Power Plant, planned giving 
							counselor for the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod, 
							and estimator for Lincolnland Graphics. Jim was an 
							active member of Zion Lutheran Church in Mount 
							Pulaski serving in various capacities: School board, 
							Sunday school superintendent, Elder and 
							Congregational Chairman. | 
                    
					 
							Services for Jim will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, 
							January 24, 2015, at the Zion Lutheran Church in 
							Mount Pulaski with Rev. Glenn Stroschein and Rev. 
							Bruce LeKamp co-officiating. A visitation will be 
							held two hours prior to the service at the church 
							(9-11:00 a.m.). Burial will be at Mount Pulaski 
							Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Mount Pulaski 
							Zion Lutheran School or to the Zion Lutheran Church. 
							Arrangements are entrusted to 
							Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home, Mount Pulaski.
