[January 28, 2015]  Jan 27 (The Sports Xchange) - The NHL's all-time leader in wins and shutouts has decided to retire.

Goalie Martin Brodeur has decided it's time to call it a career after 21 years with the New Jersey Devils and less than half a season with the St. Louis Blues.

Slumping center Mike Richards was assigned to Manchester of the American Hockey League on Tuesday after the defending Stanley Cup champion Los Angeles Kings waived him a day earlier.

Richards, 29, still has around $25 million remaining on a contract that runs through 2019-20. He contract carries an annual salary-cap hit of $5.75 million.

The Ottawa Senators signed forward Brad Mills to one-year, two-way contract for the rest of the season and waived forward Colin Greening.

The 28-year-old Greening had been a healthy scratch since Jan. 8. He has one goal in 20 games this season.

The Washington Capitals recalled defenseman Cameron Schilling from the Hershey Bears of the American Hockey League.

Schilling, 26, made his NHL debut on March 12, 2013, against Carolina and skated in one game with Washington last season.

The San Jose Sharks recalled forwards Tomas Hertl and Barclay Goodrow and defenseman Mirco Mueller from Worcester of the American Hockey League.
