The deal includes a player option after the fourth year, ESPN.com
and CBSSports.com reported Monday.
Gasol, 30, never entertained offers from other teams, preferring to
return to the city where he has played his entire seven-year career.
Gasol was named first-team All-NBA this year after averaging a
career-high 17.4 points along with 7.8 rebounds and 3.8 assists.
Gasol can sign his contract Thursday, when the NBA signing
moratorium ends.
-- Veteran guard Manu Ginobili will play another season with the San
Antonio Spurs, he announced via Twitter.
The Spurs also reportedly will sign forward David West to a one-year
deal worth the veteran minimum of $1.4 million.
Ginobili's decision to return for a 14th season in San Antonio and
the addition of West follow the Spurs' contract agreement with
forward LaMarcus Aldridge and the return of forwards Tim Duncan and
Kawhi Leonard and guard Danny Green.
-- Guard J.J. Barea reportedly has agreed to terms of a two-year,
$5.6 million contract to remain with the Dallas Mavericks. The deal
includes a player option for a third year, Puerto Rican newspaper El
Nueva Dia reported.
The Mavericks also are close to a deal that would bring point guard
Jeremy Lin to Dallas.
Lin played with the Los Angeles Lakers this past season and is a
free agent open to a sign-and-trade move to join the Mavericks.
