The key player in the deal is Sharp, a 2011 All-Star who
helped the Blackhawks to three Stanley Cup championships,
including this year's title.
"On behalf of the entire Blackhawks organization, I'd like to
thank Patrick for all that he helped our franchise accomplish
during his time in Chicago, especially serving an integral role
in bringing us three Stanley Cup championships," Blackhawks
general manager Stan Bowman said in a statement.
"He was one of our leaders on the ice, most notably as an
alternate captain for several seasons, as well as off the ice
with his countless contributions and volunteer work with team
partners, sponsors and Blackhawks fans everywhere. He will
forever be a Blackhawk and we wish him and his family nothing
but the best in Dallas and beyond."
The Blackhawks had been trying to move Sharp in recent weeks to
clear space under the salary cap.
The Blackhawks rid themselves of Sharp's $5.9 million salary-cap
hit, leaving them with enough room under the $71.4 million limit
to put together a quality roster for next season.
Daley makes $3.3 million per season for the next two years and
Garbutt's cap hit comes in at $1.8 million
Sharp, 33, had 16 goals and 27 assists in 68 regular-season
games last season. He added five goals and 10 assists in the
playoffs while helping the Blackhawks to their third Stanley Cup
championship in six years. He was an alternate captain for the
Blackhawks.
Johns, 23, had a career-high 21 points (four goals, 17 assists)
in 51 regular-season games with the Rockford IceHogs of the
American Hockey League last year.
Daley, 31, had career highs with 16 goals, 22 assists and 38
points in 68 regular-season games last season with the Stars.

games with Dallas last season.
