Yankees 5, Red Sox 1
The New York Yankees took advantage of some huge breaks in a
three-run fourth inning and went on to a 5-1 victory over the Boston
Red Sox.
Alex Rodriguez hit his 17th homer of the season, all the way out of
Fenway Park, and 671st of his career to give the Yankees a 1-0 lead
in the first inning.
The Yankees then had runners at second and third and one out in the
fourth when Boston pitcher Clay Buchholz left the game with
tightness in his right elbow.
The Red Sox then made three straight infield errors, two of them by
first baseman Mike Napoli, and Rodriguez capped the rally with a
bases-loaded walk.

Pirates 5, Cardinals 2
Gerrit Cole pitched seven innings to become the first 13-game winner
in the major leagues as Pittsburgh beat the St. Louis Cardinals 5-2.
Cole (13-3) allowed two runs, both on third baseman Matt Carpenter's
third-inning homer, and six hits while striking out three and
walking two.

White Sox 1, Cubs 0
The Chicago White Sox used five double plays and four pitchers
combined for a 1-0 victory over the Chicago Cubs.
The White Sox scratched out an eighth-inning run as pinch-hitter
Emilio Bonifacio scored on J.B. Shuck's one-out sacrifice line drive
for the only run.
Jake Petricka (3-2) pitched one inning, the seventh, to pick up the
win.

Reds 1, Marlins 0
Right-hander Mike Leake pitched eight scoreless innings while right
fielder Jay Bruce slugged a solo home run, leading the Cincinnati
Reds to a 1-0 win over the Miami Marlins.
All-Star closer Aroldis Chapman pitched the ninth inning for his
18th save of the season.

Rays 3, Astros 1
The Tampa Bay Rays rallied behind starter Erasmo Ramirez for a 3-1
win over the Houston Astros.
The Rays scored two runs on RBI groundouts in the sixth and added a
run in the seventh on a solo homer by right fielder Brandon Guyer.

Indians 5, A's 1
The Cleveland Indians broke a 1-1 tie with a four-run rally with two
outs in the sixth inning as the Indians completed a 5-1 victory over
the Oakland A's.
Right-hander Danny Salazar (8-4) gave up one unearned run on five
hits. He struck out eight and walked one before being removed with
two outs in the ninth inning.

Mets 4, Diamondbacks 2
Rookie right-hander Noah Syndergaard struck out a career-high 13 in
eight dominant innings while his New York Mets scored all their runs
in the first inning of a 4-2 win over the Arizona Diamondbacks.
Syndergaard (4-4) allowed one run and four hits and walked two.

Orioles 3, Nationals 2
Jonathan Schoop hit a solo homer with two outs in the bottom of the
ninth inning off Tanner Roark to give the Baltimore Orioles a
walk-off 3-2 victory over the Washington Nationals.

Rangers 4, Padres 3
Texas Rangers designated hitter Prince Fielder and third baseman
Adrian Beltre hit back-to-back home runs as the Rangers posted a 4-3
victory over the San Diego Padres.
The homers, both coming off San Diego starter Ian Kennedy, marked
the fourth time this season the Rangers have hit consecutive homers.

Rockies 5, Braves 3
Pitchers Gonzalez Germen and Aaron Laffey made their debuts for the
Colorado Rockies and played key roles in their 5-3 win over the
Atlanta Braves.
Germen made his first major-league start and pitched three scoreless
innings. Laffey followed him to the mound and worked 2-1/3 innings.
Both had been promoted to the majors on Friday.

Twins 8, Tigers 6
Brian Dozier's three-run, walk-off homer in the ninth capped a
seven-run inning as the Minnesota Twins erased a six-run deficit in
an 8-6 win over the Detroit Tigers.
It was Dozier's third home run of the week and second walk-off blast
in three days.

Dodgers 3, Brewers 2
Center fielder Joc Pederson drove in the winning run with an RBI
double in the seventh inning as the Los Angeles Dodgers rallied for
a 3-2 victory over the Milwaukee Brewers.
Pinch-hitter Andre Ethier's two-run single in the seventh had tied
the game 2-2.

Angels 7, Mariners 3
Mike Trout and C.J. Cron both hit two home runs as the Los Angeles
Angels breezed past the Seattle Mariners.
Trout went 3-for-5 while driving in four runs and has now hit 26th
homers this season.

Eric Hosmer stroked four hits while Danny Duffy combined with three
relievers on a six-hit shutout as the Kansas City Royals beat the
Toronto Blue Jays 3-0.

Giants 15, Phillies 2
Right fielder Hunter Pence capped an eight-run fourth inning against
Philadelphia Phillies starter Cole Hamels with a grand slam to power
the San Francisco Giants to a 15-2 win.
Joe Panik, Matt Duffy and Justin Maxwell had four hits each while
Angel Pagan had three as the Giants accumulated 22 hits against five
Phillies pitchers.
