[July 12, 2015]  On July 15, there will be an election for a vacated board term that expires January, 2017 on the Board of Directors of the Humane Society of Logan County.   The HSLC will meet at 6:30 p.m. at the Trinity Episcopal Church, 402 Pekin, Lincoln.

Any person who is a member may declare their intent to seek election to the Board of Directors. If the you are interested in serving on the Board, you may send a letter of intent to the Board secretary, Wanda Stevens, sevenmutts@gmail.com.

Jane Bryson resigned her seat on the board effective March 18, 2015. At the April 15, 2015 meeting the Board appointed Kay Anderson to fill the vacant position until the General Membership Meeting July 15, 2015 when there will be an election to fulfill the remainder of the vacated term (January, 2017).

Marge Wibben has agreed to be the chairperson of the Membership Committee and is planning an aggressive membership campaign.

Sue Newman, Ways and Means Chairperson, has assumed the responsibility for merchandise sales but is seeking a volunteer to handle the project. Sue also invites anyone interested in being on the Ways and Means Committee to call 217.671.1269 or e-mail hardwork1951@ hotmail.com.  There are exciting events planned but we need volunteers to make them successful.

"The General Membership meeting will focus on the Shelter operation for the first six months of 2015, the operational and financial challenges that we will face going forward and the amazing progress of the Forever Home Pet Cemetery. HSLC has a very exciting future on the horizon. We want to share all the good news with the citizens of Logan County. Come join the fun and be a part of providing a future for the unwanted animals of Logan County."  - Ellen Burbage
