							Lawrence “Lar” I. McCoy, 77, went to be with the 
							Lord at 3:21 a.m. on Sunday, July 19, 2015, at St. 
							John’s Hospital in Springfield.  
							 
							Lawrence was born August 26, 1937 in Omaha, 
							Nebraska, the son of Rev. Lawrence and LaVaun Davis 
							McCoy. He is survived by his wife of nearly 34 
							years, Alice Barton McCoy. 
							 
							Lar is also survived by children: Kim Weller; Kelly 
							Hamilton; Kristie McCoy; Karrie McCoy and Karen 
							McCoy, all of St. Joseph, MO; Lia (Kerry) Miller of 
							Petersburg; Dr. Reya Ingle of San Diego, CA; Dr. 
							Wendy (David) Weimer; a Godson: Adam Stogdell; 
							Grandchildren: Taylor and Abby Miller; Joey, 
							Danielle, Derrick, Justin, Daniel, Patrick, 
							Cheyenne, Aspen, Ashley, Kenneth, Skylar, Garrett, 
							and Karlee; and a half sister: Patty McCoy of Omaha, 
							NE. He was preceded in death by his parents and half 
							brother, James McCoy. 
							 
							Lar was an Air Force veteran and loved to fly 
							following his service. He worked as a truck driver 
							retiring from ABF in 1999. He was a member of the 
							Church of the Nazarene; Shriners, Blue Lodge, 
							Teamsters, and he was a pilot. He loved to play 
							golf. His irrepressible humor, kindness, generosity, 
							and unmistakable singing voice will be missed by 
							all.  | 
							
							 
                    
					  
							Services for Lawrence will be Thursday, July 23, 
							2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the Church of the Nazarene, 
							Lincoln, with Greg Wooten Officiating. Burial will 
							follow in Greenview Cemetery with full military 
							rites accorded by the Menard County Intra Veterans 
							Detail. Visitation will be an hour (10:00-11:00) 
							prior to service at the church. Memorials may be 
							given to the Lincoln Church of the Nazarene or 
							Shriner’s Children’s Hospital. Arrangements were 
							entrusted to Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home, 
							Lincoln.
