MANITO
- Mrs. Jeanne Sarff, a teacher at Midwest Central High School in
Manito, recently applied for and was awarded a $4,600 grant from
Century Link.
|
The grant funds will be used to purchase Chromebooks for the
classroom. Students will utilize the Chromebooks to create
documents, do research, and gain vital skills that they need for
their future careers.
The Chromebook project will focus on writing and communication
skills by providing the technology that will allow students to
create an online portfolio containing their resumes and samples of
their work. It will also allow students to complete online college
applications and job applications, as well as federal financial aid
applications and college entrance essays.
Students will be able to research occupations and match their
interests and aptitudes with potential careers. |
The goal as educators is to move our students forward and
prepare them for life after high school and the funds from the
Century Link grant will enable us to purchase tools that will
help us do that.
