[June 11, 2015]  MOUNT PULASKI - Harold A. Tendick, 80, of Mount Pulaski passed away at 1:55 p.m. on Saturday, June 06, 2015, at Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital.

Visitation:  From 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday June 10, at Zion Lutheran Church in Mount Pulaski

Service: 11a.m. Thursday June 11, at the church

Obituary

Harold A. Tendick Jr., 80, of Mount Pulaski died at 1:55 p.m. Saturday June 6, 2015 at Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital in Lincoln.

Harold was born September 5, 1934 in Mount Pulaski to Harold A. and Loise E. Irwin Tendick Sr. He married Wanda Meister on July 26, 1959 at the Zion Lutheran Church in Mount Pulaski. She survives.

Also surviving are his sons: Steven (Jenny) Tendick of Kennesaw, GA and Gary Tendick of Carbondale; grandchildren: Ashley and Cooper Tendick of Kennesaw, GA; two sisters: Eleanor Woodyard of Lawrence, KS and Lorene Stoll of Chestnut; one brother: Edwin (Carolyn) Tendick of Moore, SC. He was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers-in-law, George Woodyard and Edwin Stoll.

Harold attended Mount Pulaski Schools and after graduating from high school he enlisted in the U.S. Navy, serving from 1955-57. He served most of his tour of duty on the USS Lexington.

After returning home from service, Harold farmed for 45 years. He enjoyed spending time with his “two Favorite” grandchildren, attending the USS Lexington reunions, coffee at Subway with his buddies, riding his scooter around town, and playing golf.

Services for Harold will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday June 11, 2015 at Zion Lutheran Church in Mount Pulaski with Rev. Glenn Strohschein and Rev. Bruce Lakamp officiating. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday June 10, 2015 also at the church. Burial at Mount Pulaski Cemetery will follow the service where full military rites will be accorded by the Mount Pulaski American Legion Post #447. Memorials may be made to Zion Lutheran Church or the Land of Lincoln Honor Flight.

Harold was a loving husband, father, and grandfather and will be deeply missed.
