06/11/2015 NFL Note - Cincinnati Bengals Ogbuehi, Cedric
T Cedric Ogbuehi, selected by the Bengals in the first round of the
draft (21st overall), signed a four-year contract Thursday (June
11).
The Bengals now have signed all nine of their draft picks.
"It's great to have all these guys in the fold well before we open
training camp," Bengals head coach Marvin Lewis said. "We are
looking to get a lot of help from this group to extend our string of
(four) playoff appearances and then go farther. With Cedric, that
help will come a little farther down the road, but this is a guy
who's worth a little wait."
Ogbuehi is recovering from an ACL tear suffered in the Liberty Bowl
at the end of last season. He is expected to be cleared to play in
time for the 2015 season, but not likely for the opener. He has
worked out on the side during the team's OTAs.
The 6-foot-5, 306-pound Ogbuehi was a Walter Camp first-team
All-America last season who also played right tackle and guard in
college.
"Ced has tremendous potential and a tremendous future," Lewis said.
"He's just a huge man with great athleticism, big, long length and a
huge wingspan. He protects the passer and he's punishing as a run
blocker. We were very, very pleased that he was there when we
picked."
