Zerelda Jeanet Helen Schulte was born August 19,
1914 in St. Louis, MO, the daughter of Charles F.
and Blanche Schulte. She married Fred Michaelis in
January 1934 in St. Louis, MO. He passed away in
1977. They were the parents of Marilyn (Bob) Chapin,
Glenn (Mary) Michaelis and Normajean (Larry)
Douglas.
Survivors include several Grandchildren,
Great-grandchildren and Great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and

Zerelda retired from the State of Illinois where she
worked as a cook. She was a member of Zion Lutheran
Church in Mt. Pulaski, IL and was dedicated to
reading her Bible daily. Her other interests
included painting, figurines, reading, playing cards
and collecting dolls. She lived most of her adult
life in Lincoln, IL but has been a resident of
Clinton, IL since 2009. Zerelda has been “cruising”
the halls of Liberty Village of Clinton in her

The family sends a special thanks to the staff of
Liberty Village for all the love and care she
received. This witty, spunky lady will be greatly
