Obituary
Thomas H. Doty I, 76, of Lincoln passed away at his
home at 6:42 p.m. June 15, 2015 with family by his
side.
Tom was born November 17, 1938 in Liberty, Indiana,
the son of Robert A. and Leona Duggins Doty whom
both preceded him in death, as well as his brother,
Joe Doty. He married Joan M. Paddock-McDowell May
23, 1958 in Connersville, IN. He later married
Sandra M. Graham June 5, 1982 in Buffalo, and she
resides in Lincoln.
Tom is survived by children: Tammy Doty (Larry )
Wilham of Elkhart; Terri Doty Draper of Lincoln;
Tina Doty (Bob) DeVore of Akron, IN; Tom (Shelly)
Doty of Gillette, WY; and Traci Doty of Dawson;
Stepson: Mitch (Missy) Graham of Lincoln and one
step daughter: Val (Clem) Martin of Waynesville; and
one brother: Fred Doty of Cambridge City, IN; ten
grandchildren: Josh (Sarah) Wilham of Elkhart, IN;
and their 2.5 children; Chad Draper of Wyoming and
his five children; Dawn (Jeff Walker) Draper of
Lincoln and their two children; Nichole (B. J.)
Daniels of North Manchester, IN and their two
children; Tenille (Silas) Zartman of Wabash, IN;
Robert (J.R.) DeVore of North Manchester; Jean Ann
(Michael) Patrick of Akron, IN and their one child;
Kim DeVore and her one child of Napanee, IN; Ashley
(Russ) Terry of Heyworth, IL and their five
children; Amber Doty and her two children of
Gillette, WY; Kayla Riedle of Macomb; and 18 great
grandchildren. |
Tom was an Electrician/Lineman for T & F
Construction in Hagerstown, Indiana since 1969. He
later moved to Illinois for a contract to build the
Springfield Power Plant in 1972. He also worked for
Egizii Electric retiring in 1998 at the age of 60.
He was a member of the American Legion; Eagles Lodge
2708; NRA; IBEW Local 51; International Brotherhood
of Electrical Workers Pension Member and the
Alliance Retired Americans. He enjoyed piddling in
his workshop, hunting, fishing and camping.
Tom requested to be cremated and private services
will be held at a later date.
Memorials may be given to the American Diabetes
Association or to the Doty Family Reunion.
