Obituary
Charles H. "Chuck" Leonard, 79, of New Holland
passed away on Friday, June 19, 2015 at 11:15 a.m.
at The Christian Village Nursing Home surrounded by
his loving family.
Funeral Services for Mr. Leonard will be held on
Wednesday, June 24, at 10:30 a.m. at the Peasley
Funeral Home in Lincoln with Rev. Jeffrey G. Laible
and Mr. Ryan Edgecombe officiating.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday evening June 23,
from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Burial will be at a later date at Richmond Grove
Cemetery at rural New Holland.
Charles H. Leonard was born on October 25, 1935 in
Tuscola, the son of Albert James and Hanna Oye
Leonard. He was united in marriage to Rose Marie
Birkner on January 13, 1955 in Piopolis, Ill. She
survives.

Also surviving are his son: Chuck Leonard, one
daughter: Diane (Bob) Rankin both of New Holland;
five grandchildren: Heidi Mueller, Brandon Leonard,
Jennifer Rankin, Robbie Leonard, and Bobby Rankin;
and three great-grandchildren: Bryan, Dean, and
Greyson.
He was preceded in death by three brothers and two
sisters.
Chuck retired from Caterpillar, Inc. after thirty
years of service. Prior to that he had been employed
at The Stetson China factory in Lincoln. He was a
member of Holy Family Catholic Church. He was a
skilled woodworker and enjoyed embroidery work,
fishing, hunting, and watching and feeding birds. He
mostly enjoyed being with his family.
Memorials may be made to the Holy Family Food
Pantry.
