[June 26, 2015]  DETROIT -- Carlos Sanchez rifled Joba Chamberlain's hanging slider into the right-field corner for a three-run triple with two outs in the 10th inning Thursday to give the Chicago White Sox an 8-7 victory over the Detroit Tigers.

Chamberlain (0-2) walked left fielder Melky Cabrera with one out and then hit right fielder Avisail Garcia with a 2-2 pitch. Pinch hitter J.B. Shuck singled to short to load the bases with two outs before second baseman Sanchez ripped a 1-2 pitch on a line past first base to clear the bases, breaking a 5-5 tie.

With one out in the bottom of the 10th, Detroit loaded the bases off right-handed David Robertson by sandwiching two singles around a walk, and catcher Bryan Holaday grounded a two-run single to left to make it 8-7.

But the Chicago closer got second baseman Ian Kinsler to fly out to center and -- after intentionally walking first baseman Miguel Cabrera -- struck out Josh Wilson to earn his 15th save. Wilson had pinch-run for designated hitter Victor Martinez in the ninth.

Left-hander Zach Duke (3-2) pitched a scoreless ninth and got the win.

Chicago center fielder Adam Eaton hit starting right-hander Alfredo Simon's first pitch of the game for his fourth home run of the season. It was the second time Eaton had led off a game with a home run.

Detroit touched rookie lefty starter Carlos Rodon for a pair of two-run home runs. Kinsler's second homer of the season followed a leadoff single to short by center fielder Rajai Davis and gave the Tigers a 2-1 lead in the first inning.

Chicago added two in the second, one on an RBI double by Garcia and the second on catcher Tyler Flowers' RBI single.

With two outs in the fifth, Chicago designated hitter Adam LaRoche blasted a fat 3-0 pitch over Davis' head in center for a two-run double, expanding the lead to 5-2.

With one out in the bottom of the fifth, Detroit right fielder J.D. Martinez hit his 18th homer one out after designated hitter Victor Martinez doubled to left. That cut the Tigers' deficit to 5-4.

Shortstop Jose Iglesias hit a sacrifice fly for the Tigers in the eighth to create a 5-5 tie. Third baseman Nick Castellanos doubled to left and pinch runner Andrew Romine advanced to third on a wild pitch before the sacrifice fly scored him.

The Tigers hit into three double plays, upping their major-league-high total to 76, and also wasted a leadoff triple by Castellanos in the fourth.

Simon gave up five runs on six hits and three walks over 6 1/3 innings for Detroit. He struck out five.

Rodon surrendered four runs on eight hits and three walks in five innings for Chicago. He struck out seven.

NOTES: Chicago manager Robin Ventura "had a talk" with CF Adam Eaton, who stopped running on a ball hit to short Wednesday. "You run everything out," Ventura said. "You don't take anything for granted." ... Tigers C Alex Avila flew out of Detroit on Thursday to join the club's Triple-A club in Toledo for a rehab assignment that could last a week. He will catch, then DH on alternate days. ... White Sox SS Alexei Ramirez wasn't in the starting lineup in hopes it would turn his defensive play (nine errors) around. Ventura feels it could be affecting Ramirez's hitting (.220). Ramirez hit a pinch-hit double in the eighth inning. ... RHP Bruce Rondon has returned to the Tigers, and manager Brad Ausmus said "he's got to work himself back into a role" in the bullpen.
