[June 26, 2015]  ATLANTA - Anthony J. Feist, 88, of Atlanta passed away on Sunday, June 21, 2015 at 2:03 p.m. at Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital in Lincoln.

Visitation: Saturday, June 27, from 9 a.m. until the time of the service at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Atlanta

Service: Saturday at 10 a.m. at the church

Funeral home: Quiram Peasley Funeral Home, Atlanta

Obituary

Anthony J. "Tony" Feist, 88, of Atlanta, died at 2:05 p.m. on Sunday, June 21, 2015, at Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital in Lincoln.

Funeral services for Mr. Feist will be held at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Atlanta at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 27, 2015. Rev. Joseph Cox will officiate.

Visitation for Mr. Feist will be on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service at St. Mary's.

Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery in Bloomington. Cremation Rites have been accorded.

Anthony Joseph Feist was born April 29, 1927 in Carlock, the son of Anthony L. and Genevieve M. Huber Feist.

Tony is survived by two sisters: Genevieve "Tootie" Feist of Atlanta and Sr. Joanne M. Feist O.P. of Sinsinawa, Wis.; three brothers: Edward (Elizabeth) Feist of Cook, Minn., Bernard (Charlotte) Feist of Bloomington, and Bill (Barbara) Feist of Bloomington; cousin Marilyn Taylor of Forrest; and several nieces and nephews.

 

Funeral Director

He was preceded in death by three sisters: Mary Annette Belmar, Marie Margaret Witte, and Sr. Mary Dominica O.P.

Tony served in the United States Army from 1955 - 1957. He was honorably discharged under the rank of Specialist 3rd Class. Tony was a life-long farmer, farming around Atlanta and Bloomington. He had also worked in maintenance and custodial services for Holy Family Church and Carroll Catholic School in Lincoln, after retiring from farming. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of Atlanta, The Atlanta Rotary, and was very proud of his private pilot’s license and having his own runway on his family farm.

Memorials may be made to St. Mary's Church of Atlanta.

Final arrangements are entrusted with Quiram-Peasley Funeral Home of Atlanta.
