Ten teams recognized at local Relay
for Life monthly meeting

LINCOLN - At the monthly meeting of the
Relay for Life of Logan County Carolyn Motley, teams registrar
announced 10 teams that have registered for the 2015 Relay For Life
“Ready, Set, Go For The Cure” to be held June 20 from noon to
midnight at Lincoln College. As they were announced each was given a
‘Celebrate Life’ magnet.

Teams and captains recognized were:
Bosom Buddies – Bob Hashman,
CEFCU Lincoln Member Center-Lori Metelko,
Faith, Hope and Love-Cheryl McGill,
Friends Walking for a Cure-Mary Martin,
Jigglers-Kathleen Brumbaugh,
Northern Lites-Ruth Hieronymus,
Northwest Wildcat Walkers-Tamara Dietrich,
Purpose Drive People-Deborah Colley,
St. John UCC Remembers-Carolyn Pech
and a new team night CUREage-Nicole Lee.
Teams not signed up are encouraged to contact Carolyn (732-8032).
Bill Post shared the Luminaria program emphasizing luminaria can be
sold beginning now, in memory of someone, in honor of or to
celebrate a life. Information and forms can be obtained from Bill
(732-7564) or any team member.
Dara Entwistle, the new Fund the Cure lead member, shared the March
Cancer Mission Moment on colorectal cancer.
Cheryl McGill gave an update on the sponsorship program and the
progress with businesses and individuals contacted. As they join
sponsors will be celebrated and posted on the Recognition Board.
Local leaders Devin Vannoy and Tonita Reifsteck with Rachel Ray from
the American Cancer Society office shared information on Team
Captain shirts, an upcoming Breakfast fundraiser and other events
for the Relay.

This year the goal is to have 27 teams and raise $64,600 in.
The goal and emphasis is still directed for funds for a cure as
new diagnosis are spoken to a new victim more often than we care
to admit.
Both past survivors and new survivors are encouraged to register
at the Community Health Fair March 21 at Lincoln Recreation
Center, or give information to any team captain or call Tonita
Reifsteck 855-1645.
The next meeting will be at 6:00 p.m. March 23 at Lincoln
Christian Church. Meetings are open to all captains, team
members and other interested persons.
