8th Grade Lincoln students go to State Chess Championship

LINCOLN - Three eighth grade Lincoln
students hit the road to participate in the Illinois Elementary
School Association's State Chess Championship this past weekend. The
eighth-grader competition took place Friday and Saturday at Bone
Student Center, ISU.

Students participated in seven rounds and were awarded a total
score of 7 possible.
Both Nate Arnold and Peyton Rickord from Chester-East Lincoln
brought home 2nd Runner-Up awards. Arnold had a total score of 5.0,
as did Peyton.
Also participating from Lincoln was Zion Lutheran's Elijah Burton.
Burton scored a 3.0.

score of 7.0.
The Normal Chiddix team claimed first with a
