Operation Cookie Share, which started in 2010, is an effort held
in conjunction with the local Girl Scout Cookie Program that allows
customers to purchase cookies for members of our armed forces. Since
the program’s inception, Girl Scouts of Central Illinois has
provided over $1,000,000 worth of Girl Scout cookies to our military
men and women. In fact, Girl Scouts of Central Illinois have been so
successful with this endeavor that the achievement is entered in the
			Illinois Congressional Records.
“We are thrilled to provide this opportunity to support the military
and Girl Scouts at the same time,” said GSCI Chief Operating
Officer, Kelly Day. “Operation Cookie Share is a great way to show
your support to those who are charged with defending our country. We
get letters all the time from troops in faraway countries, and they
are grateful for a little taste of home. We partner with the
military affinity group at State Farm, who ensure that cookies are
packed and shipped to servicewomen and men across the U.S. and
			abroad.”

Customers can elect to have their cookie purchase directed to
Operation Cookie Share via any Girl Scout participating in the
annual sale. There are no additional shipping fees associated with
the Operation Cookie Share Program; cookies are $4.00 per box.
Additionally, customers can visit OperationCookieShare.org  to
make a direct donation to the effort.
