[March 06, 2015]  SPRINGFIELD - Newly-inaugurated State Representative Tim Butler (R-Springfield) has been appointed to committees dealing with tourism and transportation policy in the House of Representatives.

“With New Salem, the world’s largest covered wagon, the Lincoln Presidential Museum, the Tremont Turkey Festival and so much more, Central Illinois has an abundance of amazing tourist attractions,” Butler said. “I am glad to have the chance to serve on committees that help promote Illinois tourism, while improving the transportation infrastructure that carries our families and our visitors.”

In the House, Butler will serve on the Committees on Tourism and Conventions; Museums, Arts and Cultural Enhancement; Transportation Regulation Roads and Bridges; Transportation Vehicle Safety; and the Environment.

Butler also encouraged 87th district residents to contact him at his Springfield constituent service office. The office, located in room 1128-E of the Stratton Office Building next to the State Capitol, can be reached by telephone at (217) 782-0053. The office mailing address is 401 S. Spring Street, Room 1128-E, Springfield, IL 62706.

“I am looking forward to getting out into the towns of the 87th district and meeting people,” Butler said. “But I also hope they will feel free to reach out to me with their comments and questions.”

Butler also urged constituents to visit his new legislative website at www.reptimbutler.org.
