Nominations open for Heartland Distinguished Alumni award

NORMAL - The Heartland Community
College Alumni Association is seeking nominations for its
Distinguished Alumni award. The award recognizes notable HCC alumni
who demonstrate exceptional achievement in their profession and make
a positive impact on their community. Nominations are due March 31,
2015.

"Our first Distinguished Alumni Award recipient was Chad
Pregracke. He was named CNN’s Hero of the year in 2013 for his work
in cleaning up rivers,” said Director of Alumni Relations and Donor
Engagement, Colleen Reynolds. “We know there are other alumni who
are making a difference in their community.”
Reynolds is encouraging employers, co-workers, family members,
friends and professors to consider taking a few minutes to nominate
an alum who deserves to be honored.
Criteria for Nomination
To be considered for the Distinguished Alumni award, candidates need
to meet the following requirements:
- Completed at least one class at HCC
- Achieved success of an exceptional nature within their
chosen field or profession
- Made a positive impact on his/her community, through
leadership and/or active volunteering
- Agrees to be present and accept the award during
commencement Saturday, May 15 at the College
