space remains for attendance at the upcoming Russel Allen Garden
Day. The event, sponsored by the University of Illinois Extension
Logan County Master Gardeners, will be held Saturday, March 14 on
the campus of Lincoln College. |
Key note speaker for the gardening workshop will be Guy Sternberg
of Starhill Forest Arboretum of Illinois College. His topic is
“Tough Trees for the Landscape!” There will also be various breakout
sessions including “Getting Started with Natives”, “When Thyme
Began”, “Hostas: Purchasing, Planting, Propagating, Protecting”,
“Curb Appeal for the Home”, “Pruning and Care of Hydrangeas”, “Trash
to Treasure – Home Composting and Vermicomposting” and “Inspired
Miniature Gardening” (Make and Take session with an additional
material fee of $15.00).
Registration the day of the event is 8:00-8:45, with presentation
sessions running from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
