[March 12, 2015]  CHESTNUT - Edwin D. Stoll, 75, of Chestnut, passed away at 5:45 p.m. Friday March 6, 2015 at his home.

Visitation: 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday March 10, at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Mount Pulaski.

Service: 11:00 a.m. Wednesday March 11, at the Chestnut Zion Lutheran Church in Chestnut

Obituary

CHESTNUT - Edwin D. Stoll, 75, of Chestnut, passed away at 5:45 p.m. Friday March 6, 2015 at his home.

Edwin was born on February 6, 1940 in Lincoln to Richard and Reva Schmidt Stoll. He married Lorene Tendick on June 17, 1962 in Mt. Pulaski. She survives.

Edwin is also survived by his son William (Julie) Stoll of Mount Pulaski, two daughters, Debra (Tim) Smith of Houston, TX, and Janet (James) Sampson of Pleasant Plains, sister Barbara (Bill) Himley, 9 grandchildren, Chelsea, Meghan and Jacob Stoll, Brendon and Ashley Gerdes, Ryon and Cody Smith, Britney Cowan, and Pam (Damian) Larson, and one great grandson Brayton Larson.

Ed was a lifelong farmer and was active in the community having served on various boards including the Illinois Milking Shorthorn Society, Logan County Farm Bureau, Agland FS Board, Beason Grade School Board and the Chestnut Men’s Club. He was an active member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Chestnut where he served as trustee for several years. Ed was an avid bowler and bowled for over 50 years. He loved his family and enjoyed them being around.

Services for Edwin will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday March 11, 2015 at the Chestnut Zion Lutheran Church in Chestnut with Rev. David Dunlop officiating. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday evening at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Mount Pulaski. Burial will be at Laenna Cemetery in Chestnut. Memorials may be made to the Zion Lutheran Church of Chestnut or Memorial Home Hospice.
