Bruins 3, Lightning 2 (shootout)
After a run of seven successive shootouts without a win, Boston must
have been fearing the worst on Thursday when their game against
Tampa Bay ended 2-2 after overtime.
However, Patrice Bergeron and Brad Marchand scored to end the
Bruins' shootout misery and bring the Lightning's four-game winning
streak to an end.
Bergeron also had a goal in regulation, with David Pastrnak also
scoring for Boston.
Steven Stamkos and Vladislav Namestnikov scored for Tampa Bay.

Senators 5, Canadiens 2
Ottawa scored five unanswered goals in a 5-2 win over Montreal at
the Bell Centre.
Netminder Andrew Hammond made 27 saves for the Senators, who are
9-1-1 in their last 11 as they push for a playoff spot.
Carey Price stopped 24 shots for Montreal, who have dropped five of
their last six.

Stars 5, Hurricanes 3
Dallas goalie Kari Lehtonen faced just 19 shots in his 500th career
game as the Stars got first-period goals from defensemen Alex
Goligoski and Jason Demers and rookie left winger Curtis McKenzie en
route to a 5-3 win over Carolina.
Cody Eakin and Patrick Eaves also scored for Dallas, while Victor
Rask, Andrej Nestrasil and Chris Terry scored for Carolina.

Blues 1, Flyers 0 (shootout)
St. Louis defeated Philadelphia 1-0 in a shootout on goals by T.J.
Oshi and Vladimir Tarasenko, while goaltender Brian Elliot stopped
Flyers wingers Jakub Voracek and Wayne Simmonds.
Philadelphia outshot the Blues 10-8 in the first period and
controlled play thanks to a trio of penalties against the Blues.
But Elliott held down the fort, making a flurry of saves on the
Flyers' final power play to keep the game scoreless.

Penguins 6, Oilers 4
Steve Downie and Patric Hornqvist scored third-period goals to
salvage a win for Pittsburgh, who blew a four-goal lead against
Edmonton at Consol Energy Center.

Two goals from Brandon Sutter and one each from Sidney Crosby -- who
also had two assists -- and David Perron staked the Penguins to a
4-0 lead early in second period before the Oilers chipped way.

Avalanche 2, Devils 1 (shootout)
Jarome Iginla recorded the deciding goal in the shootout and also
scored in regulation, as Colorado edged New Jersey 2-1.
Avs goaltender Semyon Varlamov returned to the lineup to stop 23
shots and made two more saves in the shootout to keep Colorado's
playoff hopes alive. Varlamov missed the previous game due to a
groin injury.

Panthers 4, Jets 2
Aleksander Barkov scored with 3:53 left in the third period to lead
Florida 4-2 over Winnipeg at the BB&T Center. Nick Bjugstad, Derek
MacKenzie and Brad Boyes also scored for Florida.
Winnipeg, battling for the final playoff spot in the Western
Conference, got goals from Mark Scheifele and Drew Stafford.

Blue Jackets 3, Red Wings 1
Fedor Tyutin, Scott Hartnell, and Cam Atkinson scored to lead
Columbus to a 3-1 win over Detroit at Joe Louis Arena.
Goalie Sergei Bobrovsky stopped 41 shots as Columbus earned just
their third win in 11 games. The Blue Jackets are 9-2-1 against the
Red Wings in their past 12 meetings.
