[March 14, 2015]  March 13 (The Sports Xchange) - Highlights of Friday's National Basketball Association games:

Hawks 96, Suns 87

Atlanta restricted Phoenix to just 14 points in the final quarter as the Hawks rallied for a 96-87 road victory over the Suns.

The Hawks were down by eight points early in the fourth quarter but nailed five three-pointers in the final seven minutes to sweep past the Suns.

Forward Paul Millsap scored 23 points for Atlanta, which improved to 1-1 on its six-game western road swing.

Raptors 102, Heat 92

The Toronto Raptors beat Miami for the first time in five years as guard Kyle Lowry starred in a 102-92 home victory over the Heat.

Lowry had 19 points, eight assists, eight rebounds and seven steals as Toronto halted a run of 16 consecutive losses to Miami, the longest losing streak against one team in franchise history.

The win also snapped Toronto's four-game slide.

Thunder 113, Timberwolves 99

Oklahoma City starter Serge Ibaka missed his first game of the season with a sore knee but it did not stop the Thunder from beating the Minnesota Timberwolves 113-99.

The Thunder (36-29) moved into a tie with the New Orleans Pelicans for the final playoff spot in the Western Conference.

Oklahoma City point guard Russell Westbrook struggled with his shooting at times but still posted his sixth triple double in eight games, with 29 points, 12 assists and 10 rebounds on 11-for-24 shooting.

Mavericks 129, Clippers 99

A season-best 38-point second quarter and a big night from forward Chandler Parsons from long range gave the Dallas Mavericks a much needed charge in a 129-99 thumping of the short-handed Los Angeles Clippers.

Parsons connected with 5-of-6 from beyond the arc for a team-high 22 points for Dallas, which had lost five of its previous seven games.

Nuggets 114, Warriors 103

Forward Kenneth Faried had 24 points and 17 rebounds and the Denver Nuggets beat the self-depleted Golden State Warriors 114-103 for their third straight win.

The Warriors (51-13) lost for the first time in seven games, as they rested All-Star guards Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson, forward Andre Iguodala and center Andrew Bogut.

Nevertheless, the Warriors led by five points with five minutes left, before Denver dominated down the stretch.

Hornets 101, Bulls 91

Guard Gerald Henderson scored 20 points to lead seven players in double figures and the Charlotte Hornets dominated the second half for a 101-91 win over the Chicago Bulls and climbed into eighth place in the Eastern Conference.

The Hornets trailed 40-21 early in the second quarter but roared back and eventually led by 18 points in the fourth quarter. They outscored Chicago 25-10 in the third quarter and 16-6 to open the fourth.

Celtics 95, Magic 88

Evan Turner staged a one-man show in the closing minutes, and the rebuilding Boston Celtics continued an improbable run at a playoff berth with a come-from-behind 95-88 victory over the Orlando Magic.

The veteran guard scored 11 of his team's last 16 points over the final 3:46 and finished with a season-high 30 points for the Celtics, who won for the fifth time in six games.

76ers 114, Kings 107

The Philadelphia 76ers overcame an 18-point third-quarter deficit to beat the Sacramento Kings 114-107.

Center DeMarcus Cousins had a huge night in a losing cause, grabbing a career-high 24 rebounds and matching his season high of 39 points.

Trail Blazers 118, Pistons 99

Guard Damian Lillard scored 28 points and dished out nine assists to lead the Portland Trail Blazers past the Detroit Pistons 118-99.

Forward LaMarcus Aldridge had 22 points despite not playing in the fourth quarter for the Trail Blazers (43-20), who won for the seventh time in eight outings. (Compiled by Andrew Both)
