[March 17, 2015]  LINCOLN - The LCHS Speech Team has entered Group Event season and will be showcasing their hard work at a free, public performance Thursday night beginning at 7 p.m.

The Group Interpretation is Jay Asher's Thirteen Reasons Why, a sobering tale of a young girl who leaves behind a legacy in 13 cassette tapes that changed her life.

The GI cast features senior Bailey Mitchell as Hannah Baker and junior Zac McCray as Clay Jensen, and a supporting ensemble cast that includes juniors Braden Tanner, Colton Clark, Rachel Meador, Lena Stapleton, McKenzie Landers, Bekah Harpin; sophomores Claire Conrady, Isabelle Robbins, Shelbi Fisher, Belle Smith, Abby Funk; and freshmen Lydia Spellman, Erin Gowin, and Shannon Rahn.

The performance has a time limit of 30 minutes and must include a standard, non-decorated set and uniform costuming among the cast. The Group Interp is directed by Jennifer Keith and Wyatt Phillis and assisted by Anthony Greer.

The LCHS Contest Play entry this year is William S. Golding's Lord of the Flies. This 40-minute cutting a play version of the popular novel will be presented with full costumes and set that are then packed in a U-Haul and taken to the competition Saturday in Charleston.
