The Group Interpretation is Jay Asher's Thirteen Reasons Why, a
sobering tale of a young girl who leaves behind a legacy in 13
cassette tapes that changed her life.
The GI cast features senior Bailey Mitchell as Hannah Baker and
junior Zac McCray as Clay Jensen, and a supporting ensemble cast
that includes juniors Braden Tanner, Colton Clark, Rachel Meador,
Lena Stapleton, McKenzie Landers, Bekah Harpin; sophomores Claire
Conrady, Isabelle Robbins, Shelbi Fisher, Belle Smith, Abby Funk;
and freshmen Lydia Spellman, Erin Gowin, and Shannon Rahn.
The performance has a time limit of 30 minutes and must include a
standard, non-decorated set and uniform costuming among the cast.
The Group Interp is directed by Jennifer Keith and Wyatt Phillis and
assisted by Anthony Greer.
The LCHS Contest Play entry this year is William S. Golding's Lord
of the Flies. This 40-minute cutting a play version of the popular
novel will be presented with full costumes and set that are then
packed in a U-Haul and taken to the competition Saturday in
Charleston.

The play, directed by Betsy Buttell, Wyatt Phillis and
Anthony Greer, includes Tanner as Ralph, McCray as Piggy,
Robbins as Jack, Clark as Roger, Stapleton as Sam, Landers as
Eric, Smith as Simon, Conrady as Maurice, and Meador as Officer.
The top two Contest Plays and the top three Group Interps from
each Sectional move on in the State Series at the University of
Illinois at Springfield March 26-28.
