Blackhawks 1, Rangers 0
Brad Richards snapped a scoreless stalemate halfway through the
third period to earn the Chicago Blackhawks a narrow victory
over the New York Rangers.
Richards was playing his first game at Madison Square Garden
since the Rangers bought out his contract in the offseason. He
spent the previous three seasons with New York before signing
for Chicago.
Backup goaltender Scott Darling stopped 25 shots to earn the win
for the Blackhawks (43-21-6), who are 6-1-0 in their past seven
games.
Goaltender Cam Talbot made 30 saves for the Rangers (44-18-7),
who had their five-game winning streak snapped and are tied with
Montreal for top spot in the Eastern Conference. (Compiled by
