The final day to update yield history or reallocate base acres
has been extended one additional month, from Feb. 27, 2015 until
March 31, 2015. The final day for farm owners and producers to
choose ARC or PLC coverage also remains March 31, 2015.
If no changes are made to yield history or base acres by March
31, 2015, the farm's current yield and base will be used. A
program choice of ARC or PLC coverage also must be made by March
31, 2015, or there will be no 2014 payments for the farm and the
farm will default to PLC coverage through the 2018 crop year.

Conservation Stewardship Program (CSP)
The Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) has extended
the deadline for new enrollments in the Conservation Stewardship
Program (CSP) for fiscal year 2015. Agricultural and forestry
producers interested in participating in the program can submit
applications to their local NRCS field office through March 13,
2015. CSP is a voluntary program that encourages producers to
maintain and improve existing conservation systems and adopt
additional activities (practices and enhancements). The program
emphasizes conservation performance — producers earn higher
payments for higher performance. Producers adopt conservation
activities to make positive changes in soil, water, and other
related natural resources.
Youth Loans
FSA makes loans to individual youths to establish and operate
income-producing projects of modest size in connection with
their participation in 4-H clubs, FFA and similar organizations.
Each project must be part of an organized and supervised program
of work designed to provide practical business and educational
experience. The project must be planned and operated with the
help of the organization advisor and produce sufficient income
to repay the loan.
A Youth loan is available to young persons between the ages 10
and 20 years. The maximum loan amount is $5,000. Loan funds may
be used to:
- Buy livestock, seed, equipment and supplies
- Buy, rent or repair needed tools and equipment
- Pay operating expenses for the project
