Obituary
Betty J. Walker, 77, of Lincoln passed away at 5:57
p.m. March 17, 2015 at Memorial Medical Center,
Springfield.
Betty was born December 1, 1937 in Hartsburg, the
daughter of Augusta Lolling Scales. She married
James E. Walker, Jr. on June 30, 1957 in Hartsburg.
He preceded her in death February 20, 1986.
Betty is survived by three daughters: Melanie (Brad)
Close of Springfield; Michelle (Mark) Denton of
Green Valley; Mindy (Matt) Boyer of Hartsburg;
siblings: James (Cheryl) Scales of Atlanta; Marilyn
(William) Conley of Lincoln; Roger Scales of
Lincoln; six grandchildren and three great
grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her
parents, husband, and one son: Mark Walker.

Betty was a cake decorator and member of St. John’s
Lutheran Church of Hartsburg.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday,
March 20, 2015 at Hartsburg Union Cemetery,
Hartsburg. There will be no visitation. Burial will
be in Hartsburg Union Cemetery. Services were
entrusted to Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home,
Lincoln. Memorials may be given to Mason County Pets
Without Parents.
