"We've made the decision to remove him from basketball activities.
He's not making the progress that we'd hoped or expected," general
manager Sam Presti said Friday.
Asked if Durant was being shut down for the rest of the season,
Presti said, "Essentially, that's the direction we're headed right
now."
Durant had surgery in October to repair a fracture in his right foot
and underwent a small procedure last month to help alleviate pain in
the foot.
Durant is averaging 25.4 points, 6.6 rebounds and 4.1 assists in 27
games this season. If he fails to return to the floor, he will have
missed a total of 45 games with the injury.

Houston Rockets power forward Terrence Jones is out indefinitely
with a partially collapsed lung suffered Thursday.
The Rockets said Jones will be re-evaluated in a week, but there is
no timetable for his return.
Jones is fifth on the team with an average of 12.4 points to go with
7.3 rebounds per game.
In Jones' absence, Joey Dorsey is expected to return to the starting
lineup, with Donatas Motiejunas also regaining increased minutes.

The Los Angeles Clippers signed forward Jordan Hamilton for the rest
of the season.
Hamilton has averaged 4.0 points and 1.4 rebounds in eight games
since the Clippers signed him from the Reno Bighorns of the NBA
Development League. His second 10-day contract expired Tuesday, and
the Clippers need him with Jamal Crawford out with a calf injury.

Rockets and Clippers.
