03/24/2015 NFL Note - Chicago Bears Jenkins, Jarvis
DE Jarvis Jenkins left the Redskins for the Bears Tuesday (March
24), agreeing to terms on a one-year contract. Last year, the
26-year-old Jenkins started 14 games for the Redskins and had a
career-best 29 tackles, including three for loss. In four seasons
with the Redskins, Jenkins made 33 starts and had 76 tackles. He sat
out the 2011 season because of a knee injury.

NFL Note - Chicago Bears McDonald, Ray
DT Ray McDonald agreed to terms on a one-year contract with the
Bears Tuesday (March 24). McDonald will be reunited with former San
Francisco 49ers defensive coordinator Vic Fangio, who now holds the
same position with the Bears.
The 49ers released McDonald in December after allegations that
police were investigating him on suspicion of sexual assault. He
also was accused of domestic abuse last August by his fiancee, but
in November the case was was dropped without charges being filed.
Since 2011, McDonald started 56 games for the 49ers, including 14
last season. He had 39 tackles and three sacks in 2014. In his
eight-year NFL career, all with the 49ers, McDonald has 210 career
tackles, 19 1/2 sacks and one interception.

NFL Note - Arizona Cardinals Slaughter, Nathan
WR Nathan Slaughter was signed by the Cardinals Monday (March 23).
Slaughter (5-9, 184) originally entered the NFL with Houston as a
rookie free agent out of West Texas A&M in 2014 and was released by
the Texans on May 19. He then signed with Jacksonville on June 19,
but was waived/injured on August 6. He played four years at West
Texas A&M, and in 47 career games (43 starts) he totaled 174
receptions for 1,978 yards and 14 TDs.
Slaughter worked out Sunday at the NFL's Veteran Combine held at the
Cardinals Training Facility in Tempe.

NFL Note - Minnesota Vikings Matthews, Casey
LB Casey Matthews left the Eagles for the Vikings Tuesday (March
24). Matthews agreed to terms with Minnesota after spending his
first four NFL seasons with Philadelphia, where he played in 65
games earning 15 starts. During the 2014 campaign, Matthews recorded
a career-best 62 tackles, 1.5 sacks, four tackels for loss and three
quarterback hits. He has played in all 16 games in each of his four
NFL seasons.

NFL Note - Minnesota Vikings Mays, Taylor
S Taylor Mays left the Bengals for the Vikings Tuesday (March 24).
Mays agreed to terms with the Vikings as a free agent after spending
the past four seasons with the Bengals. Originally drafted by San
Francisco in the second round of the 2010 NFL Draft, he has played
66 career games with 10 starts. A season ago, Mays played in all 16
games for Cincinnati, primarily on special teams.

NFL Note - Pittsburgh Steelers Harrison, James
LB James Harrison re-signed with the Steelers Sunday, agreeing to
terms on a two-year contract.
Harrison, who turns 37 in May, will enter his 13th season in the NFL
in 2015 and 12th in Pittsburgh.
In 2014, Harrison contributed 45 tackles and 5.5 sacks in 11
regular-season games (four starts) with the Steelers, and had two
tackles in the team's postseason contest.
Harrison originally signed with the Steelers as an undrafted free
agent in 2002. He has appeared in 157 regular season games (108
starts).
Harrison earned five consecutive Pro Bowl selections from 2007-11
while helping lead the Steelers to two Super Bowl championships (XL
and XLIII) in three title game appearances.
Harrison ranks tied for first in team history with 17 multi-sack
games and is second with 69.5 sacks. He also had two sacks in his
one season with the Cincinnati Bengals in 2013.
On Saturday, Harrison announced on Instagram that he would soon
choose between re-signing with the Steelers and joining his former
defensive coach, Dick LeBeau, with the Tennessee Titans.

Harrison posted a video on Instagram that featured his two young
sons. One son says he should return to the Steelers and the other
one says he should sign with the Titans.
"The opinions of my support team are split, but for me, my love for
the man who both started, and made my career what it is, is
undeniable," Harrison wrote on Instagram. "There are no words that I
can find that would do justice for everything Dick LeBeau has done
for me & my career and nothing can compare to that!
"I also have a great amount of love for Steelers Nation & the
Steelers organization. I'm going to pray on this and let God guide
me in the right direction."
LeBeau parted ways with the Steelers in January after 11 seasons as
the team's defensive coordinator. Harrison played 11 of his 12
seasons for LeBeau in Pittsburgh. LeBeau joined head coach Ken
Whisenhunt's staff with the Titans in February as an assistant head

NFL Note - Houston Texans Dent, Akeem
LB Akeem Dent was re-signed by the Texans Tuesday (March 24).
Dent started seven of the 15 games he played in last season with the
Texans. He recorded 27 tackles, 11 special teams tackles, six
quarterback hits, two tackles for loss and a sack.
Houston acquired the 27-year-old in a trade with the Atlanta Falcons
on June 18.
During his three seasons with Atlanta, Dent made 20 regular-season
starts. He was drafted in the third round of the 2011 NFL Draft out
of the University of Georgia.

NFL Note - Indianapolis Colts Carr, Deveron
CB Deveron Carr was signed by the Colts Monday (March 23). Carr
participated in the NFL's Veteran Combine the day before.
He was originally signed by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as an undrafted
free agent on April 29, 2013. As a rookie in 2013, Carr appeared in
nine games on special teams. He was then waived by the Buccaneers on
August 26, 2014.
Carr started 34-of-42 career games at Arizona State (2008-2012) and
finished with 86 tackles, 22 passes defensed, three fumble
recoveries, 2.5 tackles for loss and two interceptions. As a senior
in 2012, he earned All-Pac-12 honorable mention after starting all
13 games and recording 23 tackles, eight passes defensed, two fumble
recoveries and an interception. Carr was part of a secondary that
led the conference and ranked third in the nation in pass defense,
allowing only 168.0 passing yards per game.
