The
Cornet Chop Suey Jazz Band, which is named after a somewhat
obscure Louis Armstrong composition, has enjoyed a rapid rise in
popularity since its first appearance at the Sacramento Jazz
Jubilee in 2001, and today it is very busy playing at Jazz
festivals all over American, Canada and even Switzerland! The
band has also played on a variety of cruises and tours,
including Germany and Austria in 2014.
This seven member band, headquartered in the St. Louis area,
plays a wide variety of styles including traditional jazz,
swing, blues and big production numbers. Every performance is a
high-energy presentation and a memorable experience for the
audience.
Cornet Chop Suey has nine CDs available,
including the St. Louis Armstrong CD which is from a special set
that includes 13 favorite Louis Armstrong compositions and hit
songs.
