Jack was born July 11, 1929 in Springfield, IL, the
son of John F. and Ruth M. Havenar Kuznik. He
married Arlene “Pat” Tally June 13, 1953. She
preceded him in death. He then met and married
Michelle “Mickey” Young Sparks on May 1, 1993. They
had almost 22 years of enjoyment and happiness
together. She survives in Lincoln.
Jack is survived by his children: Jim (Dawn) Kuznik
of Middletown; Rosemarie (Dan) Moos; Amy (Tom)
Gallagher, Tricia (John) Goldsberry, all of Lincoln
and John (Loris) Sparks of Tacoma, WA;
Grandchildren: Michelle R. Kuznik (companion Jake
Mahler); Brooke (Kyle) Charron; Dawn Mileham Zastrow;
Rob (Megan) Mileham; Tommy-John Gallagher; Josh
(Emilee) Gallagher; Jordan (companion Armin Howard)
Gallagher; Anna Goldsberry and fifteen great
grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his
parents; first wife; brother, Robert “Bob” Kuznik
and grandson, Gabriel Lowell Goldsberry.
Jack graduated from Cathedral Boys High School in
Springfield, Class of 1947. Shortly after graduation
he began working at Illinois Commercial which is now
known as Frontier. While working for them, he lived
in Springfield, Jacksonville, Kewanee, Morton,
Bloomington and then settling in Lincoln in the mid
sixties. After retirement in July 1986, he began
working at First National Bank (now Regions) in
maintenance, retiring from there in July 1991. In
November 1999 he began 15 years of employment at Wal
Mart mainly as service writer in Tire & Lube
Department until December 2014. He worked at the
Logan County Fair Main Gate with the late Dave
McGraw as ticket takers about 25 years. |
He was an active member of 3rd & 4th degree of
Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed bowling, was a
member of the Antique Auto Club, enjoyed gardening
and especially enjoyed playing bags, watching
Buccaneers and Cubs. He loved spending time with his
family especially his grandkids. He enjoyed
traveling to Tacoma, WA to visit and taking many
side trips around the area while there; traveling to
Branson, MO and driving his 1968 Camaro to many car
shows near and far. Jack will truly be missed by
all. No one was a stranger to him. The family would
like to thank all family friends and Wal-Mart family
for all their care and concern. They could not have
made his life more enjoyable than it has been these
past six years. He definitely lived life to the
fullest.
