Kerr shot a tournament-record 20-under to win the Kia
Classic, and climbed nine spots to No. 10 in the world. New
Zealand teenager Lydia Ko extended her lead atop the rankings
with a third-place finish Sunday. At 10.92 points, she holds
nearly a full point advantage over South Korean Inbee Park
(9.98), who entered the Kia Classic with an opportunity to take
over the top spot but finished two shots behind Ko to finish
fifth.
American Stacy Lewis remains comfortably at No. 3, with nearly a
three-point average separating her from South Korean Hyo-Joo
Kim. China's Shanshan Feng rounds out the top five, followed by
South Korean So Yeon Ryu, Norway's Suzann Pettersen and American
Michelle Wie, as there was no change within the top 8 this week.
American Lexi Thompson, who was in contention Saturday before
scuffling to a 71 in the final round and tied for 10th place,
did return to the Top 10 as well and sits one spot ahead of
Kerr.
South Korean Amy Yang (No. 11) and Australia's Karrie Webb (No.
12) fell out of the top 10.
