Lincoln Heat 10U fights back, defeats Clinton, 16-15

[May 01, 2015]  LINCOLN - With the Lincoln Heat 10U trailing by one in the bottom of the 7th and with one out, Jaden Leadly came to the plate and doubled, scoring Ryan O'Donoghue and Wyatt Mammen for the walk-off win.

Leadly had three extra-base hits for Lincoln Heat 10U.

He showed his talents on both sides of the diamond with a strong game on the mound and at the plate.

Leadly baffled Clinton, striking out 13 batters while allowing one earned run on five hits and no walks over five innings and carried Lincoln Heat 10U's offense and pitching in the victory.

Clinton jumped out to an early 6-0 lead in the top of the first with two hits, three walks and two hitters hit by pitch.

But, the Heat 10U brought home four runs in the first inning and matched that run total in the fifth. In the first, Lincoln Heat 10U scored on a three-run double by Darren Stevens, bringing home Brenden Wurth, Wyatt O’Donoghue and Leadly.

Lincoln Heat 10U answered Clinton's top inning with four runs of its own in the fifth. Lincoln Heat 10U scored on a RBI single by Luke Jones, a RBI single by Ryan O’Donoghue, and a two-run single by Brenden Wurth.

Starting the season 4-0, the Lincoln Heat 10U comes back on Monday, with a home doubleheader against Olympia at the Lincoln Rec Center. Game time is 5:45 p.m.
