Judy Worth shares “Wigs for Cancer
Survivors” at Relay For Life, Logan County meeting

LINCOLN
- At the monthly meeting of the Relay for Life of Logan County on
Monday, April 27, Judy Worth, owner and stylist of Fabulous
Hairstyles Beauty Salon shared what she does for and with the
clientele-women, young ladies and men that seek her services as one
of the support groups that Relay money helps provide.

Several wigs, turbans, scarves were on display as she explained
the program. Judy, a four-time survivor herself and Honorary Chair
in 2005 very recently was able to help someone. This is one of the
benefits that will be realized with proceeds 2015 Relay for Life
“Ready, Set, Go for the Cure” to be held June 20 from noon to
Midnight at Lincoln College.
Special fundraisers will to help meet this year’s goal of $64,600
were shared.
The annual Relay Breakfast will be on Sunday, May 17 from 9:00 a.m.
– 1:00 p.m. at Lincoln College. This excellent meal is very
reasonably priced and includes discounts for kids. Tickets can be
bought from any team member’s ticket supply, is available from Devin
Vannoy: 737-8295, or Carolyn Pech: 732-6634, or Bill Post: 732-7564.
Tickets sold by team members prior to May 17 may be counted as
individual money.
A noon to close (9:00 p.m.) “All you can eat chicken” day will be on
Wednesday, May 27 at Country Aire in Atlanta. Owner, “Rick” will
give 20% of those sales to Relay for Life of Logan County. Luminaria
forms will be available that day as well.
On Wednesday, June 17, Culver’s will give 10% of all sales that day
from 10:30 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. to Relay for Life of Logan County.
Team captains and members are encouraged to get yard signs and help
get the information for the June 20th Relay – Noon to midnight.
Upcoming meetings will be 6:00 p.m. Monday, May 11 and June 2. All
meetings are at Lincoln Christian Church. The event T-Shirts for
team members will be distributed on June 2. Bank night will be 5:30
p.m. – 7:00 p.m. on Monday, June 8 at Regions Bank in Lincoln.
Invitations will be mailed in May for the survivor meal, donated by
John Guzzardo to be in the gym of Lincoln College 4:30 - 6:00 p.m.
on June 20. Both past survivors and new survivors are encouraged to
register by calling Tonita Reifsteck 855-1645, so a survivor shirt
can be ordered.

Samantha Cooley, Relay School Recess leader announced that on Thursday, May 7
during the noon lunch/recess Washington Monroe will hold their Relay Recess.
On May 15 West Lincoln Broadwell will hold their Recess Relay.
On June 1 Northwest will also hold a Recess Relay.
Survivors are welcome to wear their survivor shirts and attend any of these
school relays that the students have worked to honor survivors and learn more
about cancer-the disease, prevention and hopes for the cure.
Local leaders Devin Vannoy and Tonita Reifsteck with Rachel Ray from the
American Cancer Society office continue to lift up our goal and emphasis is
still directed for funds for a cure as new diagnosis are spoken to a new victim
more often than we care to admit.
All meetings are open to captains, team members and other interested persons.
There is no limit on the number of members on a team and new team members always
welcome.
