infielder, who was originally given the night off before replacing
designated hitter Garrett Jones with one out in the eighth in a 2-2

of the season to lift the Tampa Bay to a win at Tropicana Field.
The weekend series was originally scheduled to be played at Camden
Yards, but was moved earlier in the week because of unrest in
Baltimore. The Orioles were designated as the home team and a crowd
of 9,945 attended the game.
Tampa Bay scored both of their runs in the fourth inning and that
was more than enough for Colome, who gave up three hits and struck
out six on 60 pitches in his season debut.
Twins 1, White Sox 0
MINNEAPOLIS -- Kyle Gibson pitched eight shutout innings, leading
Minnesota to victory at Target Field.
Gibson allowed just four hits and a walk while striking out four in
one of the best performances of his career, improving to 2-2 this
season.

right, allowing just one run on six hits and two walks over seven
innings of work.
Indians 9, Blue Jays 4
CLEVELAND -- Cleveland belted three home runs and Carlos Carrasco
pitched six solid innings to fuel the win at Progressive Field.
Jason Kipnis, Michael Brantley and Brett Hayes homered as Cleveland
registered a rare victory over a left-hander.
The Indians, who have a lineup filled with left-handed hitters, came
into the game with a 1-8 record against left-handed starters, but
they roughed up veteran lefty Mark Buehrle for eight runs and 11
hits in less than five innings.

Philadelphia at Marlins Park.

being over .500 for the first time this season.

two-run, two-out double into the right-field corner off Rangers
closer Neftali Feliz. The A's battered three members of the Texas

walks.

for his fifth save.
Astros 4, Mariners 3
HOUSTON -- Five relievers combined for five innings of quality
relief and Houston bashed three home runs in their win over Seattle
at Minute Maid Park.
The Astros extended their winning streak to eight games thanks in
large part to the collaborative effort of Josh Fields, Pat Neshek,
Chad Qualls and Luke Gregerson, and Kevin Chapman. That quintet
allowed three hits while striking out seven, with Gregerson allowing
the two solo home runs in the ninth.
Nelson Cruz smacked his league-leading 11th home run to snap a
string of nine consecutive batters retired, and two batters later
Logan Morrison followed with a shot to right field, but that was not
enough for Seattle.

SAN DIEGO -- Right-handed starter Ian Kennedy allowed two solo home
runs over six innings and Yangervis Solarte drove in four runs with

Colorado at Petco Park.

losing streak for the Padres, who had lost seven of their past eight
games. The Rockies lost a third straight game.
Kennedy, who allowed eight runs in 4 1/3 innings last Saturday in
his first start back from the disabled list (left hamstring strain),
