Obituary
Stephen W. Rogers, 66, of Groveland passed away on
Friday, May 1, 2015 at 9:37 a.m. at OSF St. Francis
Medical Center in Peoria.
Private graveside services will be held at the
Atlanta Cemetery with Father Eugene Radosevich
officiating.
Cremation rites have been accorded.
Stephen Wayne Rogers was born on June 20, 1948 in
Lincoln the son of Barrett Wayne and Katherine Irene
Womack Rogers.
He was preceded in death by his parents and is
survived by his children Lance (Lori) Rogers of
Eureka and Celeste (Walter) Romp of Simpsonville,
SC; his sister, Judith Kathryn (James) Marcum of
Pueblo, CO; and seven grandchildren.
Stephen graduated from the Wentworth Military
Academy. He served three years in the Army,
including a tour of duty in Vietnam. He later
completed his Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from
Illinois State University.
Steve was a founding member of the Atlanta Rescue
Squad, former Cub Scout Master, and member of the
American Legion.
He formerly owned the Morton Bowling Alley in
Morton.
Memorials may be made to the Atlanta Rescue Squad or
the Atlanta American Legion.
Funeral Arrangements have been entrusted to the
Quiram Peasley Funeral Home.
