The Parliamentary Procedure team consisting of First
Vice-President Clayton Lindley, TJ Benhart, Brady Coppinger, Garret
Johnston, Eli Olson, Brady Walsh and Sam Koehl took 1st place in the
competition and will advance to the 2015 National Leadership
Conference in Washington DC July 3-10.
Also advancing to nationals will be Hannah Riedle, who took first in
Job Interview.
This will be the 70th anniversary of the conference which celebrates
the excellence of the Family, Career and Community Leaders of
America.
As the advisor of the student-led organization with family as the
center of its focus, Wyatt Waterkotte is once again very proud of
his students and their accomplishments. "It is very exciting to have
students qualify for a fourth year in a row. They have all worked
incredibly hard to earn the right to compete against the best from
across the country. It is impressive to see students so driven
toward a goal that they dedicate themselves not only during the
school year, but also during the summer to practice, prepare,
compete and even raise funds in order to achieve their goals."
This year's group is currently selling chocolate covered
strawberries in order to raise money for the trip to Washington DC.
The strawberries are $10 for a dozen and they will be ready just in
time for a great Mother's Day gift. If you are interested, you can
contact Mr. Waterkotte at his school email: wwaterkotte@mtpulaski.k12.il.us
Orders are being taken through Wednesday, May 6 for pickup times
Friday, May 8 from 3-8 p.m. and Saturday, May 9 from 8 a.m. until 6
p.m.
