White Sox 7, Tigers 6
Melky Cabrera drove in four runs -- three of them on a game-tying,
eighth-inning home run -- and Avisail Garcia knocked in the winning
run later in the eighth to give the Chicago White Sox a dramatic
victory over the Detroit Tigers.
The White Sox (10-14) were just four outs from a 6-3 defeat before
they rallied. Detroit fell to 17-11.

Angels 4, Mariners 3
Johnny Giavotella's double in the bottom of the ninth inning scored
shortstop Erick Aybar from first base, lifting the Los Angeles
Angels to a win over the Seattle Mariners.
The Angels (13-15) were poised to win in the top of the ninth, but
the Mariners (11-17) rallied to tie the game, handing Angels closer
Huston Street his first blown save of the season.

Diamondbacks 5, Rockies 1 (second game)
Arizona left-hander Robbie Ray allowed one run in six innings to
help the Diamondbacks beat the Colorado Rockies and complete a
doubleheader sweep.
Paul Goldschmidt went 2-for-5 with a home run and two RBIs for
Arizona (12-14).
The loss extended the Rockies' (11-15) season-high skid to seven
games.

Cubs 6, Cardinals 5
Jon Lester allowed just one earned run over seven innings, and first
baseman Anthony Rizzo knocked in three runs as Chicago held off St.
Louis.
The Cubs (14-12) snapped their four-game losing streak with a 10-hit
attack. Third baseman Kris Bryant and right fielder Jorge Soler each
rapped out two hits, with Soler's RBI single in the eighth providing
Chicago with a 6-4 edge.
St. Louis fell to 20-7.

Brewers 6, Dodgers 3
Wily Peralta worked seven innings and Scooter Gennett and Adam Lind
hit two-run home runs to lead the Milwaukee Brewers to a victory
over the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Peralta (1-4) went eight innings and didn't walk a batter while
scattering seven hits for the Brewers (9-19).
The Dodgers fell to 17-10.

Rangers 11, Astros 3
Colby Lewis helped the Rangers to their first three-game win streak
of the season, leading Texas to a victory over the Houston Astros.
The Rangers (11-16) swept a series for the first time since last
September, when their last sweep came against, coincidentally, the
Astros. Houston (18-10) lost a season-high third consecutive game.

Mets 5, Orioles 1
Rookie second baseman Dilson Herrera had three hits, including a
two-run homer, and three RBIs and right-hander Jacob deGrom threw
seven strong innings as the New York Mets beat the Baltimore
Orioles.
The Mets (18-10) swept the brief two-game interleague series for
their first back-to-back wins since an 11-game winning streak ended
April 23. New York has won eight straight over the Orioles dating
back to June 11, 2010.

Blue Jays 5, Yankees 1
Left-hander Mark Buehrle pitched five effective innings and catcher
Russell Martin homered as the Toronto Blue Jays defeated the New
York Yankees.
It was the first win for Buehrle (4-2) over the Yankees (17-11)
since 2004 and ended a string of 12 straight losses to them.
Yankees left-hander CC Sabathia (0-5) failed to earn his first
victory of the season in his sixth attempt.

Padres 9, Giants 1
The San Diego Padres rebounded from consecutive shutout losses with
a 16-hit attack, beating the San Francisco Giants to salvage one win
in the three-game series.
Right-hander Ian Kennedy helped San Diego end the two-game losing
streak with seven innings of six-hit pitching, pushing the Padres
(15-14) back ahead of the Giants (14-14) in the National League West
standings.

Nationals 7, Marlins 5
Bryce Harper hit home runs in his first three at bats against
starter Tom Koehler and ended up with five RBIs as the Washington
Nationals beat the Miami Marlins to win their third series in a row.
It was the first three-homer game in Harper's career and took the
Nationals to 14-15 on the season. Miami fell to 13-15.

Diamondbacks 13, Rockies 7
Mark Trumbo hit a two-run homer and Aaron Hill belted a three-run
shot as the Arizona Diamondbacks built a big early lead and beat the
Colorado Rockies 13-7 in the first game of a doubleheader.
The Diamondbacks (11-14) reached a season high in runs and equalled
their season best for hits with 18 while ending a three-game losing
streak.
The Rockies (11-14) lost their season-high sixth straight game.

Reds 3, Pirates 0
Mike Leake continued his domination of the Pirates with eight
scoreless innings, and Brandon Phillips collected three hits,
including the tiebreaking single, as the Cincinnati Reds beat
Pittsburgh.
Leake (2-1) scattered six hits in winning his sixth straight
decision against the Pirates (12-15), and also hit an RBI double.

Braves 7, Phillies 5
Shortstop Andrelton Simmons and first baseman Freddie Freeman backed
pitcher Foltynewicz with three-hit games as the Braves beat
Philadelphia.
Simmons had a homer and double, while Freeman delivered two doubles
and three RBIs as the Braves (14-14) backed Foltynewicz with 12 hits
in salvaging a split of their 10-game homestand.

Rays 5, Red Sox 3
Joey Butler's two-run, bases-loaded single to right field in the top
of the fifth inning plated the eventual game-winning runs, leading
the Tampa Bay Rays to a win over the Boston Red Sox.
Tampa Bay (15-13) claimed a series victory with a pair of wins,
outscoring Boston 9-5. It was the fifth loss in six games for the
Red Sox (13-15), who have dropped their last two series.

Twins 13, Athletics 0
Eddie Rosario homered on his first Major League pitch and Kyle
Gibson tossed six shutout innings, helping the Minnesota Twins to a
win over the Oakland Athletics.
Rosario, called up from Triple-A Rochester on Monday, made his big
league debut and smacked an opposite-field homer on a first-pitch
fastball from Oakland left-hander Scott Kazmir, leading off the
bottom of the third inning.
The home run ignited a four-run third for the Twins (15-13).

Indians 10, Royals 3
Right-hander Carlos Carrasco gave the beleaguered Cleveland rotation
a quality start as the Indians pounded out a victory over the Kansas
City Royals.
Carrasco (4-2) limited the Royals (17-10) to three runs on five
hits, while Brandon Moss had three RBIs for the Indians (10-16).
