							Norma L. Powell, 96 of Lincoln, passed away May 2, 
							2015 at St. Clara's Manor. 
							 
							Graveside services will be held Thursday, May 7, 
							2015 at 11:30 a.m. at Laenna Cemetery, Chestnut. 
							Captain Donna Rose of the Salvation Army will 
							officiate. 
							Holland Barry & Bennett Funeral Home has been 
							entrusted with her care. 
							 
							Norma was born August 14, 1918 in Chestnut, the 
							daughter of John Laughery and Clara ( Van Devander) 
							Laughery. She married James Powell on December 16, 
							1980. He preceded her in death on May 21, 1998. 
							 
							Norma was a member of the Lincoln First Baptist 
							Church where she belonged to the Women's Missionary 
							Circle. She operated the concession stand at Bennis 
							Auto View for fifteen years. She was employed at the 
							Heritage Inn and Colonial Restaurant in Lincoln. 
							Norma retired from McDonald's as a customer 
							representative in 1979.

							Surviving are her children: Norman Fletcher of 
							Blairsville, GA., Shirley Balfanz of Lincoln, and 
							Linda Goldsbary also of Lincoln, 4 grandchildren and 
							5 great grandchildren also survive. 
							She was preceded in death by her parents, her 
							husband Jimmy Powell, her siblings Doris Simons, 
							Bessie Shumard, Roxy Fort, Jeannette Purlee, and 
							Cecil Laughery, her granddaughter Lisa LuAnn 
							Mullins, and her great grandson Michael Mullins Jr.
							 
							 
							Memorial donations may be made in her memory to the 
							Logan County Food Pantry.
