[May 09, 2015]  MOUNT PULASKI-Wallace Knauer, 86, of Mount Pulaski, died at 9:30 a.m. May 6, 2015 at Vonderlieth Living Center, Mount Pulaski. He had been a resident of Vonderlieth for the past two years.

Visitation: One hour prior to the service, from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Friday, May 8, at Zion Lutheran Church in Lincoln

Service: 2 p.m. Friday at the church

Obituary

MOUNT PULASKI-Wallace Knauer, 86, of Mount Pulaski, died at 9:30 a.m. May 6, 2015 at Vonderlieth Living Center, Mount Pulaski. He had been a resident of Vonderlieth for the past two years.

Wallace was born October 30, 1928 in St. Peter, IL, the son of William E. and Elnora Storck Knauer. He attended school at St. Peter Parochial Lutheran School for 8 years. He then moved to Mount Pulaski with his parents in 1951 and to Lincoln in 1959. He was a custodian at Northwest School in Lincoln for 27 years. He loved country music and steam engines.

He is survived by 3 brothers, Daris (Emma) Knauer of Lincoln, Darrell (Mary) Knauer of Mount Pulaski, and Dennis (Carol) Knauer of Lincoln, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother Floyd.

Services for Wallace will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday May 8, 2015 at the Zion Lutheran Church in Lincoln with Rev. Mark Thompson officiating. Visitation will be from 1:00-2:00 p.m. prior to services at the church. Burial will be at Zion Cemetery, Lincoln.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Lincoln Zion Lutheran Church or Zion Lutheran School.
