[May 13, 2015]  May 12 (The Sports Xchange) - Tampa Bay Lightning forward Ryan Callahan underwent an emergency appendectomy Monday night and will be sidelined indefinitely.

No timetable for his return has been determined, and it is unclear whether he could play in Game 7 if the Lightning lose Tuesday.

Chicago Blackhawks defenseman Michal Rozsival had surgery on his left ankle that was fractured last week during a Stanley Cup playoff game against the Minnesota Wild.

He is expected to return to full hockey activities in approximately 12-16 weeks.

Minnesota Wild goaltender Josh Harding is expected to retire due to complications from multiple sclerosis.

"I wouldn't want to speak for him, but he has bigger issues than just hockey," Wild general manager Chuck Fletcher told the Minneapolis Star Tribune.

Connor McDavid, likely the top pick in the upcoming NHL Draft, was named the 2014-15 recipient of the Red Tilson Trophy as the Ontario Hockey League's most outstanding player.

The Edmonton Oilers signed goaltender Eetu Laurikainen to a two-year entry-level contract.

The 22-year-old Laurikainen appeared in 37 games this season with the Espoo Blues of Finland's SM-liiga, posting a 17-10-9 record, 2.10 goals against average, .933 save percentage and four shutouts. (Editing by Frank Pingue)
