[May 14, 2015]  LINCOLN - Herbert Eugene "Gene" Witt, 59, of Lincoln, passed away May 13, 2015 at Symphony of Lincoln.

Visitation:  From 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday, May 18, 2015 at Holland Barry & Bennett Funeral Home in Lincoln.

Service: 1 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Obituary

Herbert Eugene "Gene" Witt, 59, of Lincoln, passed away May 15, 2015 at Symphony of Lincoln.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday, May 18, 2015 at Holland Barry & Bennett Funeral Home in Lincoln. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Monday, also at the funeral home with Pastor Ben Manley officiating. Burial will follow in Zion Cemetery, Lincoln.

Gene was born February 26, 1956 in Lincoln, the son of Andrew and Phyllis (Doolin) Witt. He married Cathy Zimmerman on August 9, 1996 in Lincoln. Gene was a night watchman at Lincoln Community High School and was employed at Wal Mart as maintenance personnel and as a greeter. He attended the Lincoln First Baptist Church.

 

Surviving are his wife Cathy Witt of Lincoln, daughter Kimmie (Jordan) Payne of Hartsburg, son Skylar Allen Eugene Witt of Lincoln, grandson Presley Alan Payne, and his mother Phyllis Witt of Murray, KY.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, his father, and his mother in law Barbara Zimmerman.
