MOUNT
PULASKI - In Mount Pulaski, a total of 68 students were recognized
Tuesday night in the Ed Butkovich Gymnasium, according to Honors
Night Coordinator Melanie Hinson. The students not only received
departmental honors and awards, but also special recognition for a
number of achievements.

Among those achievements recognized was the WYSE Academic Team
that participated in state competition this year. Also the DAR Good
Citizen Award went to Elizabeth Allen. While Julia Beccue received
special attention for the IHSA All Academic Team. Beccue was one of
26 students who was chosen state-wide out of 500 applicants for this
prestigious honor.
In addition to the awards, several students were presented with
scholarships from the community. A number of students were also
recognized for scholarship money they will be receiving from their
chosen colleges.
All in all it was a very impressive evening for these young people
of Mount Pulaski High School.

The evening was also a chance for the students to see the
comedic side of their teachers. Many of the faculty who took to
the podium tried to outdo each other in the humor department. No
awards were given but there were lots of laughs.
On a serious note though, the student's success is certainly a
reflection of the fine faculty and staff of Mount Pulaski High
School.
