LINCOLN
- The Zonta Club of Lincoln made several donations to local
organizations at their April 14th meeting. Donations are selected to
meet the objectives of Zonta International, which seek to improve
the legal, political, economic, educational, health and professional
status of women at the global and local level.

The Salvation Army, Living Alternatives Resource Center and Head
Start were each presented with $700 checks. Sojourn Shelter and
Services was presented with blankets and toiletry items that had
been collected by club members. Following the presentation, Tony
Shuff of the Salvation Army, Holly Walker of Head Start, Linda
Nelson of LARC and Cary Gave of Sojourn Shelter each gave
information on the services offered by their respective
organization.
Founded in 1919, Zonta International is a leading global
organization of professionals empowering women worldwide through
service and advocacy. With more than 30,000 members belonging to
more than 1,200 Zonta Clubs in 67 countries and geographic areas,
Zontians all over the world volunteer their time, talents and
support to local and international service projects, as well as
scholarship programs aimed at fulfilling Zonta's mission and
objects. The Zonta Club of Lincoln is a member of Area Three of
District 6 of Zonta International and was chartered on May 1, 1957.
