Wacha (6-0) moved into a tie with the Mets' Bartolo Colon for the
league lead in wins by allowing two runs and four hits.
Mark Reynolds added a solo home run for St. Louis, which improved
the best record in the majors to 26-13.
New York left-hander Jon Niese allowed eight runs and 11 hits in
five-plus innings.
Brewers 8, Tigers 1
DETROIT -- Ryan Braun, Adam Lind and Aramis Ramirez hit consecutive
home runs in a six-run third inning and Milwaukee rolled past
Detroit.
Milwaukee's Jimmy Nelson allowed one run and three hits over eight
innings. He recorded 14 of 24 outs on the ground and allowed one hit
after the second.
Detroit's Anibal Sanchez was rocked for seven runs and seven hits in
3 2/3 innings.
Orioles 9, Mariners 4
BALTIMORE -- Jimmy Paredes homered and had a career-high four RBIs
to lead Baltimore past Seattle.
Paredes had two hits and reached base for a career-best 20th
straight game. Caleb Joseph drove in two runs and Alejandro DeAza
went 3-for-3 for the Orioles.
Seattle's Nelson Cruz hit his league-leading 16th home run in his
return to Baltimore. Cruz, who spent last season with Baltimore, had
two hits and drove in three runs.
Angels 3, Blue Jays 2
TORONTO -- Hector Santiago pitched seven solid innings, and David
Freese lifted a go-ahead sacrifice fly in the eighth inning as Los
Angeles edged Toronto.
Santiago allowed two runs (one earned) and four hits while Kole
Calhoun homered for the Angels.
Aaron Sanchez allowed three runs and six hits in 7 1/3 innings while
Josh Donaldson hit a leadoff home run for Toronto.
Rays 5, Braves 3
ATLANTA -- Logan Forsythe had the go-ahead single in the fifth
inning and Tampa Bay rallied past Atlanta.
Stephen Souza Jr., Evan Longoria, David DeJesus and Asdrbual Cabrera
also drove in runs for Tampa Bay. Tampa Bay starter Erasmo Ramirez
allowed three runs and two hits in five innings, retiring 12 of the
last 13 hitters he faced.
Atlanta's Mike Foltynewicz allowed five runs and eight hits in five
innings.
Diamondbacks 4, Marlins 2
MIAMI -- A.J. Pollock hit a tiebreaking two-run home run in the
eighth inning, leading Arizona to a win over Miami.
Pollock was the second straight outfielder to deliver a late hit for
Arizona, which opened the series by getting a go-ahead double by
David Peralta in the 13th.
Miami lost for the eighth time in nine games while playing its
second game under new manager Dan Jennings.
Red Sox 4, Rangers 3
BOSTON -- David Ortiz and Mike Napoli hit solo home runs and Boston
edged Texas.
Napoli homered in the fourth and Ortiz connected an inning later.
Hanley Ramirez also added three hits for Boston, which got seven
effective innings from Wade Miley.
Leonys Martin homered and Yovani Gallardo allowed four runs and 10
hits in five innings for Texas.
Twins 8, Pirates 5
PITTSBURGH -- Joe Mauer hit a rare three-run single and Minnesota
scored six times in the second inning en route to a win over
Pittsburgh.
Brian Dozier ran his hitting streak to 10 games with a solo home
run. Trevor Plouffe also connected for Minnesota.
Minnesota right-hander Ricky Nolasco allowed four runs -- three
earned and 10 hits in 5 1/3 innings. Pittsburgh's Francisco Liriano
allowed seven runs and five hits in two innings.
Nationals 8, Yankees 6 (10 innings)
WASHINGTON -- Ryan Zimmerman lined a two-out, two-run homer in the
last of the 10th off Andrew Miller as Washington beat New York.
It was the first run allowed this year by Miller, who had given up
just three hits in his previous 17 games before Zimmerman homered
off the foul pole down the right field line.
Washington's Wilson Ramos hit a solo homer on a 3-0 pitch from David
Carpenter to tie the game at 6-6 in the sixth. The hit extended
Ramos' hitting streak to 19 games, the longest of his career and the
longest current streak in the majors.

Royals 3, Reds 0
KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Mike Moustakas stroked three hits, including two
doubles, and drove in two runs, and Yordano Ventura pitched seven
strong innings as Kansas City shut out Cincinnati.
Moustakas stroked RBI doubles in the fifth and seventh innings.
Ventura (3-3) gave up four singles, walked none and struck out six.
The Reds have lost four straight, matching their season high, and
dropped a season-worst three games below .500.
Indians 3, White Sox 1
CHICAGO -- Trevor Bauer gave up four hits and one run in 7 1/3
innings and struck out seven as Cleveland snapped Chicago's six-game
winning streak.
Bauer (3-1) recorded his third straight solid outing against the
White Sox this season before leaving the game with a two-run lead in
the eighth inning. This season against Chicago, Bauer has picked up
two of his three victories while allowing three earned runs and
striking out 22 in 21 1/3 innings.
Brandon Moss provided a bit of breathing room for the Indians in the
eighth with a solo home run off reliever Zach Putnam.
Astros 6, A's 4
HOUSTON -- Roberto Hernandez took advantage of an early lead and
recorded his fifth quality start, and Houston held on for a win over
Oakland.
Hernandez (2-3) worked six innings, allowing two runs on seven hits
and two walks with three strikeouts. He pitched effectively while
ahead, holding on to 2-0 and 3-1 leads.
Houston bashed three more home runs to add to its
major-league-leading total, which now stands at 60. Colby Rasmus
provided critical insurance with a two-run shot to right field in
the bottom of the eighth. Two batters later, Jason Castro cranked
his fifth home run for a four-run lead. Chris Carter homered in the
second inning.
Rockies 6, Phillies 5
DENVER -- Nick Hundley hit tiebreaking solo home run in the bottom
of the eighth inning and Colorado defeated Philadelphia.
Troy Tulowitzki added a two-run double for Colorado, which blew a
three-run lead in the early innings and a two-run lead in the
seventh.
Rookie Maikel Franco had three hits and drove in three runs for
Philadelphia.
Padres 4, Cubs 3
SAN DIEGO -- Derek Norris' eighth-inning, two-run double led San
Diego to a win over Chicago.
The Padres snapped a three-game losing streak and prevented the
Cubs, who gave up three unearned runs, from earning a seventh
victory in eight games.
Padres pinch hitter Clint Barmes reached in the eighth when second
baseman Addison Russell dropped his pop fly for the Cubs' third
error. Abraham Almonte, another pinch hitter, followed with a
two-strike bunt single. Barmes reached third on Cory Spangenberg's
sacrifice bunt.
Giants 2, Dodgers 0
SAN FRANCISCO -- Closer Santiago Casilla earned his 10th save of the
year as four San Francisco pitchers combined on a six-hit shutout
over Los Angeles.
Casilla allowed a two-out, ninth-inning single to pinch hitter Juan
Uribe and a walk to Joc Pederson before retiring Jimmy Rollins on a
groundout to first as the hosts won for the 12th time in 17 games.
Giants starter Tim Hudson departed with one out in the seventh
inning when his 100th pitch of the game was rifled to center field
for a single by Alex Guerrero.
