Carol Happ, 83, passed away at Timber Creek Village
Assisted Living in Lincoln on May 16, 2015.
Carol, daughter of Herman and Isabel M. Corrus Wutke
was born on November 8, 1931, in Milwaukee, WI.
Carol married Lester Happ on June 13, 1953. He
preceded her in death on February 1, 2015.
Carol was a biology teacher for school district 27
in Northbrook for 23 years. She was a member of St.
John’s Lutheran Church in Hartsburg. She was
president of the Northbrook Garden Club, member of
the Central Illinois Banjo Club where she played the
Ukulele, Chicago Land Hummers and Strummers, as well
as an avid gardener, quilter, and traveler.
Carol is survived by her children: Mary Beth
Violante (Jose) of Portugal, Dirk Robert Happ
(Rachel) of DeKalb, and Lisa Ann Wrage (Kurt) of
Emden; six grandchildren: Erik Violante, Cody Happ,
Dane (Lynnae) Happ, Jason (Elizabeth) Wrage, Kate
(Wes) Dahl and Matthew (Jessie) Wrage; seven
great-grandchildren; one sister: Ruth (Roger)
Lescohier of California. She was preceded in death
by her parents and sister, Maribel Schindel. |
Services for Carol will be held at 11:00 a.m.
Wednesday May 20, 2015 at St. John’s Lutheran Church
in Hartsburg with Rev. Lisa Goodwin officiating.
Visitation will be 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. also at the
church. Burial will follow the service at Hartsburg
Union Cemetery.
In Lieu of flowers please make donations to the
Hartsburg Emden FFA or Safe Haven Hospice.
Funeral arrangements were entrusted to
Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln.
