Obituary
Patricia Kay Jones, 72, of Lincoln, passed away May
13, 2015 at her residence.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, May 19,
2015 at Holland Barry & Bennett Funeral Home in
Lincoln. Burial will follow in Walnut Hill Cemetery,
Williamsville. Patricia requested there to be no
visitation.
Patricia was born September 19, 1942 in Mattoon, the
daughter of Ed and Lydia Barr. She studied at the
Flamingo Beauty College where she earned her
cosmetology degree and worked for many years as a
beautician. She was well known in the community. She
was a waitress for 17 years at the Tropics and the
Hotel Lincoln where her customers were given the
best service. She retired from the State of
Illinois. She was a member of the Teamsters Local
916 and the Oasis Senior Center. She enjoyed
reading, watching movies, and spending time with her
family and friends along with her cats “Boy” and “Izzy”.
Anyone who knew her would describe her as classy and
fabulous. She was a beautiful person inside and out. |
Surviving are her children Teresa “Teri” Hanner
(Mark Hines) of Elkhart; Jeffrey Jones (Charlene
“Sissy” Vincent) of Lincoln; and Lijalane Frye
(Michael Stagnolia) of Lincoln; her brother Tony
Barr of Beason; 10 grandchildren, and 6 great
grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her son
Rodney Schleder, her sister Candace Doty, and her
brother David Barr.
Memorial donations may be made to the Breast Cancer
Research Foundation and will be accepted at the
funeral home.
